I’m a proud New Jerseyan living and working in the First State. Right now, my life revolves around data and helping to make people’s lives better with it. Sometimes I do that by solving problems for companies through my work at CompassRed Data Labs. Other times I do that by building a community of civic tech advocates at Open Data Delaware. Regardless of where I’m doing the work, though, I’m always driven by making my community a better place.
Before my current work I spent time doing exactly that. Out of college, I had the opportunity to teach at Glasgow High School in Newark, DE through Teach for America. Teaching led me to 1313 Innovation where I acted as the Education Coordinator for the space, focusing on building the Delaware tech community. It was these experiences that helped me understand the value that data could bring to communities.
